They were a small volume custom car company in the early 1900s, and there was a small museum for its glory years.

Our first nashville location is both an active distillery and taproom with local beers, cocktail bar, fresh baked pizzas plus a tasting bar and bottle shop. Growing up in the smoky mountains, we spent our whole lives hearing about the legends of the area; Today, a creative community of unique retail, business and entertainment facilities reside here, including a bourbon distillery, gourmet confectionary and antique archaeology, home base.

The property boasts buildings built between 1881 and 1912 and houses several retail shops, coffee, and distilleries. In the first twenty years, by 1904, it had grown into the largest plants of its kind in the nation.

The factory was making 200 cars a month in twelve different styles, by 1913, when the lincoln highway was finished. There were marathon dealerships in cities all across the country, but due to poor company leadership, marathon motor works stopped production in 1914.

The rest of the museum had wine and whiskey tasting rooms, where we ended up buying some port. Inspired by them, we knew we wanted to be legends in our own right. Marathon music works is a music venue on the same block.

Today, a creative community of unique retail, business and entertainment facilities reside here, including a bourbon distillery, gourmet confectionary and antique. The next year, marathon moved the factory to nashville and expanded the business. The company manufactured gasoline engines and boilers for industrial use.

Marathon motor works is located just outside of downtown nashville and is home to a variety of vendors and local artists, along with a few distilleries and tasting rooms, as well as a candy shop. It was the first factory to totally manufacture automobiles in the southern united states and the only one to do so until general motors made the saturn in 1990. Most of the buildings were built between 1881 and 1912 and are in a constant state of renovation and repair.

While marathon village is fairly new, it is already made its spot on the local tour. Corsair distillery at marathon is located within the bustling marathon village. In 1884, the southern engine and boiler works opened to business in jackson, tennessee.
